A Travelling Prayer

Where is my Rock, O God?
I felt the sinking sand close around my feet yesterday.
Where is my rock, O God?
I watched your power, your waves, a dolphin.
I saw that Your way was in the sea, and your paths in the great waters.
Show me Your way again, O God.
How can I follow you if your way leaves no footprints?
Allow me to watch and see.
Your beauty is everywhere.
What does it mean to stand on You?
Let love for you grow large in all of our hearts.
Make us ready for true transformation.
Let me seek emptying. I can trust. You are solid.
My hope is built on nothing less.
Amen.

  1. I hearted the way this flowed – and I’m not sure if you meant it – but with God being THE ROCK – and sand being the remnants of rocks – little tiny rocks all of their own – and the one ROCK being stable – and the rest being sand – it all just kind of played in my mind as I read the words. I really hearted this. It got me pondering. Thank you for that. And God bless and keep you and each and every one of yours this day Katie.
