Family Friday: Minimizing

Just quiet here today in my heart and in my thoughts…pondering much. I cleaned out some closets today. I guess you could say I’ve got the itch for some Fall cleaning. Even though it’s still highs in the 90’s here. 🙂

We’ve tried to live simply, but consumption creeps in. Plus, we want to have some things. Books to read, toys for the kids, etc. But I need some organization. I’ve been feeling the clutter and chaos closing in. Following some good tips from Jonathan Blundell’s blog.

I’m cleaning out my inner closets too. Thoughts have patterns, you know? We can keep bad habits there too. The truth is: we have to live the truth. Other folks may have ideas about you or how you live or what you should do. You (like me) might have an inner voice that is pushy, discouraging and mean about your productivity. We must face the truth. (Not the drama.)

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)

Time to minimize what your attention and thoughts get spent on. Drama can go on and on with others or with yourself. This day: Decide to be honest with yourself. What is the real situation here? Did I offend someone? What discipline do I need to incorporate to have more organization? I am responsible for my own actions.

Commit to action. Then, move on.

Grateful,  I am so grateful that Truth is a Person. Thankful, I am so thankful that however I come to God (Truth), I am received with open arms by the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:5-7)

Happy Friday.
